Supplier Support

A supplier based in Europe asked Azelis Americas to assist in the development of a new additive for industrial coatings and cleaning products by providing baseline data tailored to the local needs of the North American market. Azelis Americas tested the additive in formulations using solvents popular in areas of North America. Examples of testing Azelis Americas performed include extensive solubility and rheology profiles, stability and sag resistance per the ASTM methods favored in North America. During this project we also worked with a customer to formulate properly with the new additive and helped them overcome processing and scale-up issues and develop product specifications.

Exposure Testing

A customer manufacturing Industrial Coatings products needed outdoor exposure testing to better present their products to their customers. Many companies in the Industrial Coatings market do not have the lab capabilities to perform testing in this area, but Azelis Americas does. Azelis Americas performed tests including UV/QUV, adhesion and Taber abrasion. The results in this case substantiated that the customer’s existing products performed well. These test results enabled our customer to provide more comprehensive data to their customers and gain new business.

Formulation Expertise

A coatings customer asked for Azelis Americas’ assistance in formulating an entirely new architectural coating for a unique spray application. Azelis Americas’ broad range of raw materials and lab testing capabilities for architectural coatings enabled Azelis Americas to deliver a formulation balancing all the desired properties. For this application, special rheological properties were particularly critical. Azelis Americas’ use of sophisticated rheometers and and its broad experience and knowledge serving architectural coatings applications were critical to the success of this project.

Application Expertise

A printing customer asked for assistance developing a print applied coating for both interior and exterior uses. Azelis Americas’ extensive knowledge and lab capabilities in inks, polymers and printing technologies benefited this opportunity. Working with the customer, we balanced properties of adhesion, flexibility, surface tension, and chemical resistance to achieve a product for many applications. We also helped the customer provide a coating that is intrinsically less hazardous to workers and the environment.
